Hot-dip galvanizing is an anti-corrosive treatment of steel that is obtained by immersing the products in a bath of molten zinc at a temperature of about 450°. The immersion time varies according to the thickness you want to obtain. The purpose of this type of coating is to protect the product over time from the destructive and not always visible aggression of rust. The zinc coating has a double function with regard to steel: in addition to forming a barrier that isolates it from the attack of atmospheric agents (barrier effect), it also provides protection by electrochemical action (cathodic protection), which protects the metal from corrosion.
